Nowhere in New Zealand is the land entangled
more vividly with sea than round the long,
the lunpy and sunny Northland Peninsula.
Because it is tempered by the sea (it's impossible
 to be more than couple of dozen kilometres from
salt water), the climate is mellow,mostly frostless,
 certainly snowless and definately warm.
Winter rain can be frequent and tropically lashing;
summers often bring drought.
The natural vegetaion is distinctive. Along the
coastline, mangroves teem in tidal waters,
pahutukawa (our native christmas tree) cliff-hangs
 fantastically where no other vegetaion climbs,
it's roots tenaciously gripping rock cliffs and cracks.
Bushes are a site to behold with the rich beauty
of the many ferns, shrubery and native trees
they behold.

New Zealand....often offering guided walks.

This is the infamous 90 mile beach!!
It's not really 90 miles long but it sure seems
it when you drive along it.
