Night-Life in New Zealand
   There is so much to do during the day that many visitors prefer
to rest a tnight, but for those who want more action after dark
there are night-clubs, discos, cabarets, pubs, concerts,  live
 theatre and even hot pools to lie in under the clear
New Zealand sky. There are also two casinos, in Auckland and
 Christchurch, open 24 hours a day.
Visitors to Queenstown can enjoy7-day late night shopping.
Licensing
Attitudes to entertainment in general has been transformed in
recent years. One can enjoy a drink well into the early hours in
a great many establishments. Clubs, pubs, cafe-bars, thrive
 throughout the cities,with superb musicians and some highly
innovative local bands. Most night spots and restaurants
 serve liquor seven days a week, though many pubs don't open on
Sundays. BYO "bring your own wine" is a popular option when
eating out.
Nightclubs
Most open from mid-week and restrict entrance to those over 20.
Generally they only get going after 11pm, and open until
dawn in the summer.
Eating Out
The main cities support a few elegant, silver-service restaurants.
These days there are probably fewer due to the tend towards
more relaxed dining. Consequently an enormous number of
cafe-bars have been opened in the last 5 to 6 years, offering a
range of cuisine from all continents.
Shows
Most cities stage first-class concerts and shows. Theatre,
Orchestral concerts, ballet, rock,country and jazz are
well represented.
