It is highly likely that glorious
images of New Zealand that you see
in books, calendars or posters
is of the South Islands' West Coast.
New Zealanders simply refer
to this narrow strip of land as
"The Coast": a rugged and primevalregion
that plunges westward
from the Southern Alps -a chain
of cloud peircing mountains -
through luxurious rain forest
to a breath taking coast.
